ABSTRACT

It is observed that the Ruling class and those around it had a significant role on literary activities in the East after the advent of İslâm. This issue was seen more clearly in such territories as Western and Eastern Turkistan, Horasan, Afghanistan and Iran. The states of Karahanlı (840/1211), Gazneli (963/1186) and Great Selçuklu (1038/1194) left religious, political, scientific, literary and cultural heritage in these territories. It is seen that particularly in these territories Persian language and literature developed greatly in the X-XIIth centuries. The sultans of Karahanlı and particularly the Turkish sultans of Gazneli and Selçuklu states had a great role in this develepment. Poets of Turkish origin reflected their literary tastes and culture to the poetry developed in this period. In this work, we dealt with Persian poetry, literary activities and particularly Persian poems by Turkish poets written in the palaces of Karahanlı, Gazneli and Selçuklu
