ABSTRACT

Being in peninsula that is stuated in the southeast of Europe, the Balkans is one of the regions in which different etnic and religions communities have lived together since the early times in history. This region is one of the places that was chosen by Turks as a place to live starting from the 5th century. Even though, the pre-Ottoman dimension of these relations was not permanent, after 1354, the part that began with the Ottoman rule, mentioned above, lasted for 500 years. There is no doubt that the administration, economy, culture, art and science of the region was affected by the Ottoman rule which lasted for a long time in the region. In the contemporary life of the region, not only the Turkish existence, but also their activities are still present. One of the most important of these activity fields is the existing Turkish language and literature. Ýn this research study, information about Turkish Cildren’s Poetry, the most remarkable branch of existing Turkish Literature in the region, is going to be given. In the contemporary period, a live children’s poetry is still present in Macedonia, Bulgaria, Kosova, Greece and among Gagavuz Turks, although there are differences in the quantity as well as quality.
