States
are political organisations which are formed by themselves in order
to satisfy the social needs. Classical economists do not approve state
interference into socio-economic life. Nowadays, in addition to their
traditional functions such as justice, security, defence and diplomacy,
it is an inevitable fact that states have some roles in social and
economic areas. For example, states can be effective in balancing
income distribution, stabilisation of public welfare, elimination
of regional backwardness etc. |
