The knowledge which is available about where Mahmud of Kâşgar
was born, where he lived and died did not satisfy the world
of Turkology and for this purpose various investigations were
made and expeditions were organized on his hometown, life
and grave. In the light of these investigations, the new information
and data concerning the hometown, life and grave of Mahmud
of Kâşgar were presented to the advantage of the world of
science. This information was collected as a result of the
analysis of some registers in Dîvanü Lûgati't- Türk, the negotiations
with the sheiks of the grave of Hazreti Mollam which is located
in the northwest of Opal, the tezkire of Hazreti Mollam and
Vakıfname which is presented to the grave of Hz. Mollam. |
