Merv, wich was called in various ways throught history such as `Mauru`, Margush`, `Margiana`, `Alexandria of Margiana`, `Margaba`, has been renowned as a geographic region which included different religious believes at the same time. In this region Zaroastrism, Buddhism, Christianity and Maniheism attaind extensive support. Merv, where Turkish people lived in considerable numbers, became famous with its philosophers and libraries that influenced their age deeply. Merv, also played a significant role for Bağhdad cultural center. `The science which in this geographic region,had passed to the West with the translation activities and had indirec but in active role on the birth of the modern science. |
