TİMUR'S CAMPAIGNS AGAINST TOKHTAMYSH AND THE FALL OF THE GOLDEN HORDE

ABSTRACT

        During this study, three points will be examined. At first, Timur's campaigns againts Toktamış will be analyzed. Secondly, a comparison will be made between the circumstances of the Golden Horde after Tamerlane's campaigns and the circumstances of the Ottoman Empire after the Ankara War. Finally, the concept of sovereignty in Golden Horde will be dealt with and after dealing with conditions of khans and emirs, the causes of Golden Horde's fall down will be evaluated.
