Following the death of Otman Baba, Otman Baba Vilâyetnâme was put down in writing through the compilation of oral traditions by one of his novices, namely Köçek Abdal. Otman Baba is a heteredox kalanderi sheikh who was active in Anatolia and especially in the Balkans during the course of XV. century. Vilâyetnâme takes place around Otman Baba. Within this context, it inform us about the contemporary historical and social life of the period. In our paper, we studied Vilâyetnâme as a literaray work of art from the perspective of oral culture.
