Divorce means to end marriage as legally. Turkish society is one of the societies which has the most strong and old family traditions in the world. Among the causes of divorce, there are some elements like 'severe incompatibility', 'willful desertion', 'adultery', 'socio-economical inadequacy', 'attemp against life, cruelty and serious insult', 'instanity', 'fame and reputation'. In Türkiye, divorces become intense between the ages of 25-39 for men and 20-34 for women. 44.8 per cent or divorces by duration of marriage in Türkiye had happened in the first five years. So, the first five years can be called the critical years of marriage. When it is thought that 43.85 per cent of divorces by number of children belongs to the families who have no child, it seems that having children in the family plays a role as an important insurance which protects the family. Divorces and educational status are inversely proportional. A child is in need of affection and compassion. Affection and compassion can only be realized in a family environment. İt seems that protection and developing of Turkish families which have strong and old traditions, has a big importance. |
