Halide Edib Ad ıvar's Work Named "Inside India" and Her Travel to India |

Abstract : Halide Edib, one of the most famous novelists in the 20th century Turkish Literature, has many books and artic-les. When she went to India for a conference series in 1935, she recorded her observations about Indian Muslims and In-dian culture. These notes and diary were published in 1937 under the title of Inside India. Unfortunately, in Turkey neit- her this book nor this period of the athor's life are widely known. Inside India is a valuable work in terms of understan- ding this period of the author as well as the social and politi- cal atmosphere of India.
