There are more than 50.000 scientific journals published in the world, containing more than millions of article per year. It is almost impossible for any scientist to be aware of most of their presence. In order to make it easy to reach important scientific journals and articles within them, some institution produce database index of journals and articles within them. In order to have a journal to be evaluated for coverage, soıne very basic guidlines are established. Bilig-Journal of Social Sciences of Turkish World-became a refereed journal confronting all the basic guidelines required for internationally eveluated and indexed journals, starting from this present issue. In this article, besides comparing Bilig in respect to accepted basic guidelines, some suggestions are made for evaluation and indexation of the Turkish social science journals.
