FORMAL EDUCATION

As our university is a joint university of the Republics of Turkey and Kazakhstan with international status, the languages of education at the university are “Turkish as spoken in Turkey” and “Kazakh Turkish”. This requirement is stated in the set of regulations governing the University. Besides this, professional training and education in Turkish is obligatory in all departments of the university.

Besides having a recognized status of being academically equivalent to other universities, our university distinguishes itself from other universities in Turkey and Kazakhstan by providing higher education in these two dialects of Turkish.

In addition to a physical environment, laboratories and areas for applied activities adequate to meet the academic requirements of students at all levels, the university provides conditions conducive to orientating the students to develop personal skills and interests in their respective fields.

As a result of these distinguishing characteristics, our university counts as one of the five most competitive universities in Kazakhstan. Our academic staff also consists of distinguished scientists from Kazakhstan, Turkey and other countries.

The academic year consists of 2 semesters and covers a period of at least 30 weeks for all classes except the graduating classes.  The duration of higher education is determined based on the classification of the different branches.

Our system of education is semester and credit-based, and there is a student-centered academic atmosphere in the university.

The Central Campus of our university is in the city of Turkestan.

Formal education is exempt from tuition fees.

Scholarships are granted to successful students in amounts determined by the Board of Trustees. Students who no longer qualify lose their scholarships.
